Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Evolve Daily is a personal brand — content about building things, training, and learning in public. This policy covers the one place we collect anything from you: the newsletter signup.

Who we are

Evolve Daily is a business registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Contact us at privacy@evolvedaily.co.

We are the data controller for the information described below. Evolve Daily also operates Atelier's Press (atelierspress.com); that site keeps its own privacy policy, and the two lists are separate.

What we collect

When you sign up for the newsletter, we collect:

  • Your preferred name — so we can address you the way you'd like.
  • Your email address — so we can send you the newsletter.

That's it. No payment information, no accounts, no third-party data about you.

If you reply to an email, we'll have what you wrote. We read replies; we don't do anything else with them.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

We use your name and email to send updates about the work — what's being built, what's being learned, and early access to anything we ship. Under GDPR, our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.

We use confirmed opt-in: after you submit the signup form we email you a confirmation link, and you're only added to the list once you click it. If you never click, we don't add you and we don't email you again. That means nobody ends up on this list by someone else's typo, and it's how we know the consent is really yours.

We don't sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it to profile you.

Who processes it

Our email list runs on Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, a French company). Your name and email are stored there and Brevo sends our emails on our behalf, as a data processor acting on our instructions. Because Brevo is based in the EU, EU personal data stays within the EU.

Brevo's own privacy policy is at brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy.

Our site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard web server request data (including IP addresses) as part of serving the page.

The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're a person rather than a bot. To do that, Cloudflare receives your IP address and some technical signals from your browser. It's there to stop the form being abused — it doesn't track you across sites and isn't used for advertising. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages get visited. It records the page URL, referrer, approximate location (country, region, city), device type, operating system, and browser — all aggregated. It doesn't use cookies, it doesn't store your IP address against the record, and it can't follow you to other websites. Visitors are identified by a hash derived from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours. We can't identify you from it, and neither can Vercel.

Note: this site previously linked to Brevo's privacy policy in place of its own. Brevo's policy describes what Brevo does with data. This page describes what we do with it — that's the one you want.

Cookies

This site doesn't set any tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics are cookieless, and we don't run ad networks, embedded trackers, or social pixels.

The one exception is Cloudflare Turnstile, the bot check on the signup form. It may set a strictly necessary cookie so the check doesn't have to repeat itself — it exists to keep the form working and to keep spam out, it isn't used to profile you, and it isn't shared with anyone for advertising.

Strictly necessary cookies like that one don't require consent, which is why you aren't seeing a cookie banner. If we ever add a cookie that does need your permission, you'll be asked before it's set.

If you watch an embedded video or click through to one of our social accounts, that platform sets its own cookies under its own policy, not ours.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. If the newsletter stops for good, we'll delete the list rather than keep it around.

Your choices

You can:

  • Unsubscribe — every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Ask us to delete you — email privacy@evolvedaily.co and we'll remove your record from Brevo entirely, not just stop sending.
  • Ask what we hold — it's your name, your email, and your signup date, but ask and we'll confirm.
  • Correct it — tell us and we'll fix it.

If you're in the EU or UK these are your GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. If you're in Virginia, they're your VCDPA rights. Just ask — no legal citation needed.

We'll respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.

If you think we've mishandled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority. We'd rather hear it from you first.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Social platforms

We publish on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. If you follow or interact with us there, those platforms collect data under their own policies, which we don't control and aren't party to. Nothing from those platforms feeds into our email list.

What this policy doesn't cover yet

Evolve Daily currently collects name and email for a newsletter, and nothing else. If that changes — an app with accounts, anything storing more than a mailing-list record — this policy gets replaced before that goes live.

Changes

We'll update the date at the top. Material changes get an email, not a silent edit.
